ArcelorMittal Construction France has developed a unique technology in the world at its Coil Coating site in Contrisson, with the support of the European Innovation Fund.
EB technology, supported by the European Innovation Fund, has been seamlessly integrated into the coil pre-coating process at ArcelorMittal Construction France’s CCC site. This revolutionary technology involves replacing traditional gas-fired paint film curing ovens and solvent incinerators with a non-thermal radiation (EB) curing alternative. This transformation saves more than 35,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions over a decade by abandoning natural gas. Additionally, it guarantees the use of solvent-free paint, eliminating VOC emissions during paint curing and crosslinking.
In his keynote speech, Cédric Bouzar, CEO of ArcelorMittal Downstream Solutions underscored the remarkable progress made by the company and the ever-increasing demand for steel. He also emphasized the critical role of attracting top talent to drive future success and highlighted ArcelorMittal Construction’s commitment to sustainability, with aspirations to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2050.
The event concluded with heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated teams and supporters whose invaluable contributions were instrumental in realizing this crucial project in our road towards carbon neutrality.
